The North Carolina Tar Heels are set to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Duke Mayo Classic on September 2 at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
ESPN announced in July that its weekly college football pregame showcase show “College GameDay” would air from Charlotte’s Romare Bearden Park at 9 p.m.
The two teams last met in the 2021 Duke’s Mayo Bowl – also in Charlotte – in a game that saw Shane Beamer’s team finish the first season at 7-6 with a 38-21 victory.

What items are not allowed inside the stadium?
Per Bank of America Stadium policy, the following items are not permitted inside the stadium:
- alcoholic beverages
- all balls including soccer
- non-transparent bag
- baby seats
- balloons
- Coolers, Cans & Bottles
- Explosive
- Fireworks
- folding chairs
- Food and beverages, except two sealed non-flavored water bottles per person
- Horns, bells, whistles and other noise makers
- illegal drugs
- laptop
- laser pointer
- Pets, except service animals
- Seat cushions with zippers, clasps or packers
- selfie stick
- stroller
- umbrellas
- video equipment
- weapons
- Any other item that may be considered a safety hazard
Per stadium policy, prohibited items found during security inspection must be returned to the owner’s vehicle or discarded.
What items are allowed inside Bank of America Stadium?
Per stadium policy, the following items are permitted as long as they are inspected by security personnel:
- Any transparent bag smaller than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches
- Purses or bags smaller than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches
- baby bjorns
- Containers for medical supplies for diabetics
- flags without poles
- Seat pads without covers, zips, clasps or pockets
- pills
- Small portable radio or television with headphones or earpiece
The policy states that since the goal is to get fans into the stadium as quickly as possible, fans are encouraged not to bring any bags or items that require inspection.
