The niche Ripple (XRP) use case you’ve never heard of

Ripple’s XRP has mostly been viewed as a means for the cross-border payments portion of the XRP Ledger. But it appears that people have found some interesting, unexpected and, frankly, rather cool uses for cryptocurrencies.

However, it is worth noting that other coins, such as BTC and ETH, would probably work equally well for the respective use case.

It was brought out as a response to a Twitter threat from popular lawyer John Deaton. He represents thousands of XRP holders in the case against the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

The case is with using XRP to book a private jet or share it with your millionaire friends. As ridiculous as it may seem, the company offering this service – TapJets – has even provided an amicus brief in the Ripple case, stating that XRP was actually solving the so-called Friday Night Problem.

This implies that customers are unable to pay for various services through the banking channel because, banks do not operate on Friday nights.

Deaton explained that TapJets is a lot like Uber, but for flights, and if someone needs a last-minute flight, they can use the company and reserve a jet — it’s almost instant. Is. They have to pay for the fuel, pilots, flight attendants, airport fees and everything else. So, let’s say, you want to party in Las Vegas on Friday night and spend a few million dollars, but you have no transportation, and you have no way to pay for the jet because banks work. Don’t do it.

It turns out that TapJets accepts XRP and, as we know, there is never a day off in the blockchain system.
