Apple iPhone 14 Pro: The new iPhone 15 series has come very close.
David Phelan
We know when the next Apple special event is: Tuesday, September 12. That’s all we know for sure. But there are things we know for sure to see, and conclusions we can draw.
You can read the full timeline of what’s happening when here, but here’s an overview.
Tuesday, September 12 at 10 AM Pacific
Apple’s special event at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino. it’s confirmed. Unless the world is caught between now and those, we can be sure we’ll see the iPhone 15 series, two new Apple Watches, and the updated AirPods Pro (full details here).
There will be four iPhones: the iPhone 15, a larger version called the iPhone 15 Plus, a costlier model called the iPhone 15 Pro and a larger version with more advanced cameras called the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Despite some rumours, we definitely won’t see an iPhone 15 Ultra with extra storage and RAM. I mean, there could be a 6.7-inch iPhone with 2TB of storage but it would just be called the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra second generation will also be unveiled, as well as the AirPods Pro will be updated with one of the features introduced in the new iPhones, namely USB-C instead of the Lightning connector.
usb-c
Let’s stop here for a moment. Apple will make a huge deal about switching to USB-C, even though the company opposes it because it believes, and I agree, that forcing companies to adopt a uniform standard gets in the way of creativity. may come
Still, it wants the story to be told, so that users don’t use old Lightning cables and are aware of the change. A small change to a connector could be one of the biggest announcements of the year. Who knew?
And despite Apple’s resistance, one thing is certain: We’ll all be glad we’ll be able to charge all our devices with a single charger and cable soon. Mark my words: “Oh yeah, I remember Lightning,” we’ll say softly in a few years.

Friday, September 22 (times vary by location)
New products go on sale.
Why is this going to be amazing?
The combination of a radically upgraded processor, significantly more powerful software, the excellent convenience of USB-C for iPhone, camera improvements on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, better usability for the Apple Watch (and did I mention Snoopy, didn’t Did). (ti?) And given the many improvements Apple has managed to keep away from the prying eyes of leakers, do I predict this will turn out to be a blockbuster year for Apple. Roll On, September 12.
