Francis Ngannou

Francis Ngannou has gone from the salt mines of Cameroon to competing in boxing fights against the best in the sport. He has become a true inspiration, and his story may just be getting started. “The Predator” continues his journey when he fights former two-time heavyweight king Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia on March 8.

Ngannou started training in boxing but joined the world of MMA and turned pro in 2013. Failing to capture the UFC heavyweight title in 2018, Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic in a rematch at UFC 260 to win the belt. The power-punching destroyer eventually left the UFC following a dispute in contract negotiations.

While he relinquished the UFC heavyweight title and joined the PFL, Ngannou is still considered the lineal heavyweight champion. That holds weight in combat sports.

When he made his professional boxing debut against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in October, Ngannou provided a sensation by dropping “The Gypsy King”. Despite dropping a close split decision, the 37-year-old’s reputation skyrocketed, as did his bank account.

Ngannou has rightfully earned the respect of those in boxing who doubted him and he now looks to continue his momentum. And win or lose against Joshua, he’s expected to earn a massive payday from the fight.
