What was Trump Thinking?

Author:

Former talk show host, Arsenio Hall, defeated former American Idol runner up Clay Aiken, earning $250,000 to go along with his $167,000 he raised on his project to support the Magic Johnson Foundation. What was Mr. Trump thinking? Clay raised over $300,000 for his charity and won this fair and square!

The only part of the challenge Arsenio won on the last night was the baffle you with bullsh#@t challenge as he said he took time off to care for his son and was now re-emerging as a late night talk show host.  He goes on to say that people out there like Joan Rivers and Pierce Morgan let all of their talent and success shine a light on the banner that Trump gave them and he’ll be out there giving too. Hall said he has been on the cover of Rolling Stone and The Wall Street Journal, and has lived the life of the Apprentice if he will only give him the title.

Arsenio shares how important it is to be number one. He said everybody has heard about Idol many times, but that he was number two when he was on Carson and was number two in a magic contest when he was a little boy. He tells Trump he needs to be number one.  Come on man. Have some shame and quit begging! Continue reading

It’s All About the Money This week on “Cougar Town”

As the episode begins, viewers find that Jules has a bad habit of getting all her friends into therapy if they do something that she doesn’t like. This week reveals such an occurrence as Grayson has to defend himself for offering their money to help out with baby Tampa (Jill). It was his thought that they would combine their finances.  As they attend the therapy session, the therapist agrees that this should be the case.

Jules was okay with that at first and then changed her mind since she has a low cash flow at work lately and takes money out of the Grayson’s cash register to pay Laurie. Well, they are supposed to be sharing finances. Andy helps with breaking down the money as Jules needs to let Laurie go to make a profit. Jules believes all their money problems will be resolved when she and Grayson move in together.  However, deciding who will give up their home may not be so easy.

In order to help them make a decision, the two decide to solicit advise from all of their friends as to who should give up their home. Since they got nowhere that way, they decide to go back to therapy for help. Grayson already feels like he is the giver in the relationship and makes all the sacrifices so he is not going to give up his house.  Jules is not giving up her house either.  Looks like this therapy is working great! Where Entrepreneurs Meet Business People – “Shark Tank”

This week, “Shark Tank” invites Erika Welsh and Keely Tillotson to make their pitch.

Their invention is “wild squirrel nut butter” and they are asking for $50k for a 10% stake in their business.

The girls are from Oregon and in their sophomore years of college. Erika and Keely have created their own homemade peanut butter in their apartment.  They have created four additional flavors and have been able to sell thousands of jars of their product on their website for a $14,000 gross and they have made a $7000 profit for the business. They have also contracted to be on supermarket store shelves throughout Oregon.

The sharks come off pretty cold to the college girl’s pitch as Daymond says he doesn’t know this business so he is out. Robert wants to know who will be running his business if the two of them are students. He wants to know who will be doing the business full time so he’s out. Mark feels the same as Robert and he’s out also. Kevin follows their lead because he believes the peanut butter market will be too competitive.  Barbara says it would take a lot more than they are asking to get this business off the ground so she has an offer. “Sister Wives” On TLC

Reality TV takes on a whole new purpose when it reveals the illegal. However, for one family in Utah, there will be no legal ramifications. For the Brown family, their private lives were exposed when they agreed to be the subjects of a reality TV show, “Sister Wives”, on TLC. The show, now in its third season, portrays a man, named Kody Brown, and his four wives, and their 16 children. Polygamy is illegal.

When authorities found that Brown was having marital relations with four women at one time, they decided to pursue criminal charges. When the Browns found out about this, they decided to sue. As a counter-measure, the attorney for Utah County, Jeff Buhman, closed the case. It does not appear to have done any good for the county, though, as the Browns have sued Utah county, Utah’s governor and the attorney general. The reason behind the lawsuit, according to the Browns, is that the statute against bigamy is a violation of their constitutional rights. They said that the Constitution gives them right to due process, free exercise of religion, equal protection, free speech and freedom of association.

The suit was brought before U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups, who dismissed Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff and Gov. Gary Herbert from the case. The judge said he dismissed these two because Shurtleff has a policy that prohibits them from being prosecuted, if all parties are consenting adults. Continue reading
